St. Teresa is concerned about the health of her nuns, particularly the prioresses in Seville and Malagón. She writes to the prioress in Seville, "God is life, and he can give it. Always keep praying for this..."
Saint Teresa's imaginative vision in which the Lord said that she should write "about the foundation of these houses" occurred after she "received Communion, on the second day of Lent, in St. Joseph’s at Malagón", 9 February 1570.
We rest when we seek a "solitary place" (Mk. 6:31) to be silent; to enter into ourselves; to listen to our conscience and perceive, beyond our fears and tensions, the presence of God who loves and cares for us.
