St. Elizabeth of the Trinity wrote a series of farewell letters at the end of October 1906; today we read her promise to pray for young Clémence, a companion in the novitiate who left Carmel in the summer of 1906. Elizabeth was her “guardian angel” in Carmel, helping her to adapt and adjust to monastic life.

Quote of the day, 28 February: St. Edith Stein
St. Edith Stein made some enduring friendships as a teacher at St. Magdalena's School in Speyer. To one Sister she writes: "I know there is no one in St. Magdalena who more truly shared my joys and sorrows than you. Only do not think of the sorrow as too great and the joys too meager."
