St. Edith Stein departed from Cologne bound for Echt, Holland on the night of 31 December 1938. In a farewell poem, she wrote: "In the heart of Jesus, which was pierced, The kingdom of heaven and the land of earth are bound together. Here is for us the source of life."
Come to this heavenly feast which has been prepared by eternal wisdom. Come, draw near. Abandon your baubles and empty dreams, cast off the rags that cover you. Ask Jesus for the shining robe of pardon, then with a new heart, with a pure heart quench your thirst at the limpid fountain of his love.
When we see that Savior before us with the eyes of faith as the Scriptures portray him, then our desire to receive him in the bread of life increases.
As Magdalen shed tears and poured perfume over the feet of Jesus, may you never tire of offering your prayers, aspirations and gifts before the tabernacle
God is with us; this should be enough
