About the blogger

The Carmelite Quotes blog and all @carmelitequotes media accounts — Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Mastodon, Tumblr, Pinterest, YouTube, and Vimeo are curated by a member of the Discalced Carmelite Secular Order (OCDS) in the Washington Province. In no way does the member represent Secular Carmelite communities, the province, or the Discalced Carmelite order in any official capacity or claim to do so. In all publications on this blog, the member speaks strictly in an individual capacity. Every effort is made to credit sources and publishers; all opinions expressed are those of the blogger, the guest author, or the author of the curated link. Although every attempt is made to provide accurate information, it may not necessarily represent the official teaching or position of the Discalced Carmelite Order.

The blogger earned the Master of Divinity degree from Emory University and served as an ordained pastor in the United Methodist Church prior to making the Profession of Faith as a Roman Catholic. After joining the Church, the blogger enjoyed a career in parish ministry as a church music director. Having retired, the blogger focuses all efforts on evangelization through social media by collaborating with the General Secretary for Communication of the Discalced Carmelite Order and providing translation services to Discalced Carmelite friars and nuns; the blogger’s translations have been published by the Discalced Carmelite Order and the Vatican. On a local level, the blogger is an extended member of the OCDS community and participates in the local parish community of the Ordinariate of the Chair of St. Peter.
