[Contemplative] prayer centers on the quest of God, whom we must come to know in and through Christ.
However, in order to know how to pray properly and how to progress each day on the path of prayer, we need a master of prayer. Christ himself specifies who is the teacher provided for this difficult, but necessary instruction.
Our master of prayer is the Holy Spirit.
