Marie du jour 2023, 17 May: St. Mary of Jesus Crucified

O Blessed Virgin, my Mother, I cast myself at your feet, I have sinned much, but I seek you, dear Mother. I seek Jesus. You who are hidden, Jesus who is hidden!

O, my Mother. I seek Jesus. You who are hidden, Jesus who is hidden! O my Mother, have mercy on this little nothing.

O Jesus forgive me, I no longer wish to offend You. Have mercy on this poor orphan. Jesus, you have not come on this earth for nothing, you have not come for the just, you have come to save sinners.

O my merciful Mother, [here am] I, alone, abandoned, forsaken. I no longer have my mother, I no longer have Jesus, I no longer have God, I am a little nothing, abandoned; my God, my God, mercy.

Yes, you [who are] infinitely good, I hope in you.

Saint Mary of Jesus Crucified (Mariam Baouardy)

Prayers and Canticles: Cahiers Réservés, 2

Note: We rejoice with the whole family of the Teresian Carmel as we recall the canonization of Mariam Baouardy on 17 May 2015 in St. Peter’s Square by His Holiness Pope Francis. The Carmel of Bethlehem’s website dedicated to St. Mary of Jesus Crucified features articles related to her canonization.
