St. Thérèse was so simple… She did not try to do anything but please God.
How easy it is to love and serve a God so good, a God Who is pleased by so little. Believe that His loving gaze enkindles and purifies our souls completely; humbly lament that we are powerless to praise Him, love Him, bless Him adequately.
We must not complicate our spiritual life. Did the Blessed Virgin lead a complicated life at Nazareth? And Thérèse became a saint in simplicity.
