After the 6:00 a.m. instruction on the Holy Eucharist, I went to confession. I met a confessor like I have never found before, and I thank God. The priest found all the signs of a true vocation in me. He too believes that Jesus is calling me to Carmel—and this vocation is the most beautiful.
I made a general confession. For the sixth commandment, Father assured me—like my other confessors—that I have never offended the good God!
Saint Elizabeth of the Trinity
Journal, no. 57
15 March 1899

At the end of Lent 1899, every parish in Dijon participated in a city-wide Lenten mission with preachers in every parish. St. Elizabeth of the Trinity fervently participated in her home parish, St. Michael’s. For her, it was a grace-filled moment. On 15 March she made a general confession to the mission preacher, Father Lion. “I met a confessor like I have never found before.” | Image credit: Discalced Carmelite Order
