No one has ever seen God. The only Son of God, who lived in the bosom of the Father, he has made him known to us.John 1:18
We cannot see God, but we can listen to Jesus who has revealed God to us with an existence full of goodness and forgiveness, culminating in his death and resurrection. The story of Jesus is the story of God among us. He is the human face of God. His life is the great story of God. Knowing Jesus, we know how God looks at us when we suffer, how he looks for us when we are lost, and how he understands and forgives us when we deny him.
The only way to see God is to listen to Jesus, follow him, and live in communion with him. He himself will say: “Whoever has seen me has seen the Father” (Jn 14:9). United with Jesus we will experience the joy of being sons and daughters of God and welcome others as brothers and sisters to love and to serve. United with Jesus we will never be alone and we will become so human that we will come to share his same, divine life.
