Love isn’t some vague feeling that lasts for a moment, neither is it a simple emotion. It’s something that engages us personally to the point of identifying with the other, even to the point of taking on the life and pain of others.
It doesn’t take much. The Good Samaritan only had a little wine and olive oil. However, when the heart is touched, even the poorest resources become signs of human greatness and sacraments of mercy.
