Titus had learned to live “with Mary, for Mary, and in Mary” as a 17th Century Flemish Carmelite—the Venerable Michael of St. Augustine—had written. Titus was aware that for Michael, Mary was like two wings that would lift him up to God. Titus explained:
We experience being led to Jesus through Mary; her arms entrust us to him so that we may love him as she did. Jesus came to us through her. So let us go to Mary, secure in the knowledge that we will find Jesus!
