Just as the prayer at the Jordan was the beginning for Jesus, it can be the beginning for us as well.
In prayer, we connect with God; we can unburden our hearts to him. In prayer, we discover that we are loved by God as his children and we gain the strength to live in love with joy.
When we pray, the heavens always open above us like an embrace, the Spirit descends like a breath of life and fire into our hearts. When we pray, God looks at us with fascination, totally captivated, and he whispers tenderly to each one of us as he did to Jesus: my child, you are my son, you are my daughter; I look at you and I am happy.
Prayer will make us live with much more serenity and with less fear; we will be more human and joyful. Prayer will allow us to go through the world, as sons and daughters of God, pouring out the strength and light of His infinite love that we carry within our hearts.
