“When Jesus entered Capernaum, a centurion came to him and pleaded with him, saying, ‘Lord, my servant is lying at home paralyzed, suffering terribly’.” (Mt 8:5–6). A Roman soldier is concerned about his servant; he has feelings, he suffers for him. Nobody says that police and soldiers have to be inhuman.
