We must learn to trust and confide in the guidance of the Holy Spirit. We must learn “the way of confidence and total trust,” as Thérèse of Lisieux proclaims. She writes, “I want to teach them the little means that have so perfectly succeeded with me, to tell them there is only one thing to do here on earth — to cast at Jesus the flowers of little sacrifices, to take Him by caresses — that is the way I have taken Him, and it’s for this that I shall be so well received.” The Holy Spirit can inspire us to trust in Jesus in this audacious way. That’s the gift of the Spirit: the Spirit will make you trust completely in Jesus.
