Our 2000th blog post

God desires the least degree of obedience and submissiveness more than all those services you think of rendering him.

Saint John of the Cross
Sayings of Light and Love, 13

It was an act of obedience and submission to our Discalced Carmelite superiors that led us to begin sharing daily quotes from Carmelite saints and authors on this blog after years of irregular and very occasional posts. We have always been of service to the Order for liturgical celebrations, so when the request was made for a quote-a-day calendar at the end of 2018, the blog seemed to be the most logical place to share the quotes. The apostolate blossomed from there.

We thank our faithful followers and all of our readers for their kind comments and loyal sharing of the wisdom of the Carmelites. May the prayers of the Blessed Virgin Mary, Mother and Queen of Carmel, protect us, and bring us to the holy Mountain, Christ our Lord (Cf. Collect for 16 July).
